Od niedźwiedzia do misia-zabawki: w stronę gadżetu popkultury

Abstract
From Real Bear to Teddy Bear: Towards the Gadget of Pop-culture Bear, considered as a menacing king of the woods and mountains, formerly frightening and commanding respect because of its mediating characteristics and transgressive nature, nowadays not always evokes fear, as it is forgotten that meeting him can be deadly dangerous. The author got interested in the process resulting in infantilizing the largest and most dangerous predator of Northern and Central Asia and Europe, turning it in a teddy bear, a toy for children. To capture the time of the death of the bear and birth of the teddy bear, it is necessary to depict the bear’s place in culture. The author stresses the fact that this predator is a protagonist of many rites, folk tales and proverbs. She is interested in the attitude of her respondents to the bear-shaped toy (no longer a bear), including its place in their lives, how it is used during spontaneous play.
