ON THE LENGTH-SCALE EFFECT IN THE FREE VIBRATIONS OF PERIODICALLY RIBBED ELASTIC PLATES
Journal Title: ELECTRONIC JOURNAL OF POLISH AGRICULTURAL UNIVERSITIES - Year 2010, Vol 13, Issue 4
Abstract
The plates reinforced by ribs are being considered in the paper. For such plates, by assuming a periodic distribution of the ribs in the plate, the average model was being constructed, consisting the plate dynamics equations, which are the linear differential ones with constant coefficients. For modeling the olerance not asym ptotic averaging technique were used. Consequently, in the modeling equations, a microstructure parameter remains (basic cell size). In the paper the free vibrations of the consideration plates were tested and the presence of scale effect was demonstrated

HOW CAN WE PROPAGATE THE METASEQUOIA GLYPTOSTROBOIDES HU ET CHENG?
The Dawn Redwood can be propagated by seed sowing and by vegetative methods. For sowing are used imported seeds, because trees growing in Poland do not give productive seeds. Only the oldest specimen growing in Botanic G...
THE EFFECT OF SOCIAL POSITION OF A TREE IN THE STAND AND SITE ON WOOD QUALITY OF SCOTS PINE (Pinus sylvestris L.)
The study was an attempt to determine technical quality of pine wood coming from mature stands growing in fresh coniferous forests (Bśw) and fresh mixed coniferous forests (BMśw). This assessment was based on the share o...
THE EFFECT OF BACKFAT THICKNESS IN GILTS ON DAY OF MATING ON THEIR REPRODUCTION PERFORMANCE
The present study aimed at determination of the effect of backfat thickness in different measuring points on the body at first mating in pure-bred Polish Large White (PLW) gilts and Polish Large White x Polish Landrace (...
APPROXIMATION OF THE CONTINUOUS RELAXATION SPECTRUM OF PLANT VISCOELASTIC MATERIALS USING LAGUERRE FUNCTIONS
Relaxation spectrum is a very useful tool in the characterization of viscoelactic materials as the knowledge on them enables the calculation of any linear material functions such as the creep compliance, the Poisson’s ra...
THE EFFECT OF VARIABLE ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS ON DIMENSIONAL CHANGES IN THIN WOOD-BASED MATERIALS PART II. DESORPTION CHANGES
The study comprised an analysis of dimensional changes in thin wood-based boards caused by cyclical changes in relativehumidity at constant ambient temperature. Analyses were conducted on MDF, HDF, PB and OSB. As a resul...
