On the way to obtaining electronic evidence of independent legal status: retrospective analysis.

Abstract
A consistent analysis of the means of proof inherent in a particular historical period, beginning from the most ancient to the modern legal system operating in Ukraine is carried out in the article. An attempt is made to conditional periodization of the studied problem. Particular attention is paid to the study of the impact of the results of the information society, scientific and technological progress on the practical use of digital media in the practical procedural and non-procedural activities. The author identifies and assesses the main historical and legal preconditions that ensured receipt of electronic evidence of the official status of individual means of proof in the civil process.
