Operating temperatures of the bearing system of grinder spindle
Journal Title: Tribologia - Year 2011, Vol 236, Issue 2
Abstract
The ground for the safe operation of multilobe journal bearings at proper oil film temperature is the full knowledge of bearing thermal performances particularly the oil film temperature distribution and its maximum value. This paper describes the theoretical and experimental investigation into the operating temperatures of pericycloid, 3-lobe journal bearings supporting the spindle of grinding machine. The oil film pressure, temperature and viscosity fields have been obtained by iterative solution of the Reynolds', energy and viscosity equations. Adiabatic, laminar oil film and the static equilibrium position of the journal were assumed. Experimental investigation consisted in the measurements of temperatures in the bearings.

THE ANALYSIS OF THE INFLUENCE OF STRESS DISTRIBUTION ON WEAR PROFILE IN LUBRICATED SLIDING CONTACT OF UHMW-PE VS TITANIUM Ti-13Nb-13Zr ALLOY
Metal – polymer sliding contacts are a typical combination in industry and medicine. For decades such a set of materials has been the primary choice in human joints endoprosthetic technology. In this paper tribological i...
APPLICATION OF SELECTED SGS PARAMETERS FOR EVALUATION OF ROLLING BEARING WORKING SURFACES
In the article there has been presented a method of evaluation of surfaces by means of a set of selected parameters which determine geometric features of concaves, occurring in the geometric structure of rolling bearing...
FORMING ADHESIVE SEIZING RESISTANCE BASED ON THE SELECTED MODELS
Seizing is a tribological destructive process that is inadmissible. This work analyses selected adhesive seizing models (of Kostecki, Blok and kinetic) in the aspect of formulating the premises concerning the forming on...
THE EFFECT OF PRESSURE – ROLLING OF WELDED TURNOUTS AND RAILROADS ON THEIR WEAR RESISTANCE
The article presents the effect of cold-rolling welded joints in railway lines on their mechanical and tribological properties. Welded joints of high-manganese Hadfield cast steel (L120G13) and normalized rail steel (R35...
THE INFLUENCE OF THE CHOSEN PARAMETERS OF ELECTRIC DISCHARGE MACHINING ON THE SURFACE FEATURES
The paper covers the issues concerning Electric Discharge Machining (EDM), a non-conventional method employed to machine hard materials. The research results are presented, on the basis of which the influence of the chos...
