Opportunities to improve management and competence of persons with disabilities in Poland. Conclusions drawn out from the own research of the Foundation for Enterprise and Labor Market

Abstract
The purpose of the description is to present the essence of the competence formation process of persons with disabilities shown by the use of one of the most important psychological constructs determining a good start in a career and professional development of employees with disabilities in Poland. Autonomy of self-esteem generally regarded as the key mechanism for determining mental well-being of man is an effective tool for inducing inactive people with disabilities to acquire new skills for life and work. The article analyzes the problem of the disabled person’s competences through a deliberate reference to the terms associated with the proffesional man’s development. Searches the answer for two key questions: What is the current level of economically inactive disabled people’s professional competence?, What reasons convince respondents with disabilities to raise their level of competence and management?. Getting the answers to these questions have become the reason for starting the research titled Readiness for raising the level of professional competence of persons with disabilities implemented in cooperation with a nationwide non-governmental organization.
