Optimaler Währungswechsel

Abstract
Währungswechsel können zu Wechselkursen unter pari, über pari und al. pari erfolgen. Auswirkungen auf die Funktionen des Geldes treten nur bei Wechselkursen von unter und über pari hinsichtlich der Wertaufbewahrungsfunktion auf. Es sind Preissteigerungen möglich, die zu Teuerungs- und Beschleunigungseffekten führen. Die Teuerungs- und Beschleunigungseffekte hängen vom Wechselkurs, von der Preiselastizität der Nachfrage nach den einzelnen Gütern, der Wettbewerbsintensität auf den einzelnen Gütermärkten und der Einkommenshöhe der Bürger ab. Eine Auswirkung der Effekte auf die Einkommensverteilung sollte gesehen werden. Die Teuerungsund Beschleunigungseffekte können von wirtschaftlich „starken“ Volkswirtschaften eher verkraftet werden als von wirtschaftlich „schwachen“. Optimal sind Währungswechsel al pari. Doch sind diese Wechselkurse in der Praxis nicht immer bzw. nur selten anzuwenden. Um Inflationsauswirkungen und hohe Staatsverschuldung zu bekämpfen, kommen nur Währungswechsel mit Wechselkursen unter pari in Frage.
