ORAL REHABILITATION OF A CHILD WITH EARLY CHILDHOOD CARIES: A CASE REPORT

Journal Title: IDA Ludhiana's Journal - Le Dentistry - Year 2017, Vol 1, Issue 2

Abstract

Early chidhood caries is a multifactorial disease which severely degrades the primary maxillary incisors and molars of infants and very young children. The physical appearance and structural loss caused by ECC affects aesthetics, leads to compromised mastication, and also causes psychological trauma to the child. The treatment of severely decayed primary teeth presents a special challenge to pediatric dentists. The present case report describes the oral rehabilitation of a five year old male with ECC whose dentition was restored with different techniques including composites, fiber post and stainless steel crowns.
