Journal Title: Revista de Administratie Publica si Politici Sociale - Year 2010, Vol 1, Issue 4

Abstract

There is a major conflict regarding the citizen’s role as an actor of the society. Political sociology suggests, according to its researches, also, an analysis of the patterns influencing the social and political structure. Methodological individualism focuses on the individual as the center of its researches. It stands for an entire complex of situations, opportunities and burdens exercising social interactions and influencing the ways in which information is discerned and the political decision made. Because the citizen is placed in the very center of the researches, actions and social interactions, political sociology uses multiple arguments based on the rational choice theory or arguments based on behavioral and cognitive psychology.
