Patellar Tendinopathy: A Review of Literature

Abstract
ABSTRACT Patellar Tendinopathy (PT) is an overuse disorder commonly seen in athletes who participate in jumping and running activities, and it can interfere with their athletic participation. It is characterised by progressive activity-related anterior knee pain and tenderness in the patellar tendon. This study presents an overview of the current knowledge on PT focusing on prevalence, risk factors, symptoms, and management strategies. This review can guide healthcare practitioners in decision making on the management of athletes with this condition.
