Peculiarities of the verbal and non-verbal units interaction in the British parliamentary speech

Abstract
The aim of the article is to investigate the verbal and non-verbal units interaction in the monologue speech of the House of Commons representatives. The carried out analysis allowed to reveal and analyse functions of the descriptive gestures, to define their correlation with the parliamentary speech prosodic characteristics as well as with the meanings of words.
