Pension in the digital world

Abstract
In the article, the authors investigated the features of the Russian pension system in the conditions of digitalization of the country’s economy. The current state of the Russian pension system and its development prospects based on an analysis of the dynamics of the level of pension coverage of the population from 1991 to 2017 are considered as the analytical basis for the study. The authors analyzed the historical, legal and economic basis of the modern pension system, which made it possible to comprehensively evaluate potential reforms. In economic terms, the pension is considered as a complex socio-economic phenomenon. The current regulatory framework of pensions in Russia meets the requirements of the time. In the historical aspect, the system of state pensions was not the same, it has undergone significant changes. The authors analyzed the foreign specifics of the development of the pension system, and also suggested the directions of its development based on foreign experience. The paper also presents the potential for transformation of the pension system in Russia, taking into account the impact of scientific and technological progress and increasing the financial literacy of the population.
