PERCEPTION OF NATURAL ANTIFILARIAL DRUGS

Abstract

The filariasis is considered as the one of the series health problem for the human beings and animals. This review presents the profiles of in-vitro and in-vivo screening methods for anti-filarial activity and the plants with its filaricidal potency. The profile presented includes information about the details of parasites, biological source, family, isolated phytoconstituents, parts used and availability of the reported plants for its filaricidal action. This review provides the source for the researchers to investigate further and to achieve lead molecules in the search of novel herbal drugs to treat filariasis.
