Perception of Nursing Students towards Nursing as a Career

Abstract
The purpose of this study is to provide useful information for the school authoritiesso that they can improve on the nursing program to develop and sustain interest of first year nursing students and enhance their motivation and consequentially develop their competences after graduating from the college OBJECTIVE: To assess the perception of 1st basic b.sc students towards nursing. RESEARCH QUESTION: What is the 1st year students perception towards nursing as career? The research approach is quantitative approach. Non experimental descriptive exploratory research design. The study was completed at Sinhgad College of Nursing Pune. Sample was first year basic B.Sc. nursing students. Sample size 50 first year basic B.sc nursing students and sampling technique was Non probability purposive sampling. RESULT - In this study result divided in three categories. The perception score is good 72.00%, average 16.00%, and poor is 12.00%.
