This paper reports on the findings of 11 in depth qualitative interviews exploring perceptions of community workers engaged in a local non-government organisation (NGO) established to assist children and families living with HIV/AIDs. Discussion emphasises the significance of the role of community workers as a vital ingredient in enhancing the lives of HIV/AIDs affected individuals within the Indian context.
