Performance Analysis Rim Driven Propeller as a Propulsor using Open Water Test
Journal Title: International Journal of Marine Engineering Innovation and Research - Year 2017, Vol 2, Issue 1
Abstract
The use of duct in propeller is one of the breakthrough in the development of the propeller. Ducting not only claimed to be increasing efficiency of the propeller, but also capable to protect the propeller from impact therefore propeller lifespan is longer. From that idea then RDP is created. RDP propeller blade are designed to be fix at their housing called Rim, in the other word, the driving force came from it’s rim. On current RDP blade used is non-conventional blade. This thesis will discuss about design analysis of Kaplan Propeller Kaplan Ka-70 that modified on it’s thickness distribution. On this thesis data that is varied is motor load. Simulation using Open Water Test. The result, highest value of KT and KQ occur on 30% motor load and highest efficiency is 18,338% achieved on 260 Rpm.

Analysis of Engine Propeller Matching of DC Motor as a Main Propulsion
The development of ship always searches through the most benefits system for reducing costs of propulsion system without increase pollution. Diesel propulsion system or also known as conventional propulsion system is eff...
Analysis of Lift and Drag of Mono-foil Hysucat due to Longitudinal Foil-placement Variation
CFD simulations were conducted to study the effects of a hydrofoil and its relative placement in the longitudinal direction on the total resistance of a mono-foil hysucat (hydrofoil supported catamaran). Three foil posit...
Evaluation of Container Terminal Arrangement By Computer Simulation
With growing ship size and demand for effective handling of container cargoes in recent years, automation has inevitably took place in almost all aspect of modern terminal operation. So far, automation has been led by th...
