Personality dimensions and alcohol consumption in workers of a private security company
Journal Title: Revista Eugenio Espejo - Year 2022, Vol 16, Issue 2
Abstract
e research was non-experimental, correlational, and cross-sectional with a quantitative approach. e population consisted of 100 security workers of a company who performed functions of security guards in the city of Quito. Data were collected using two validated instruments: the 16PF-V factorial personality questionnaire and the AUDIT test (for its acronym in English: Alcohol Use Disorders Identification Test). e most observed risk traits were unperturbed-with little anxiety (52%) and introverted-socially inhibited (49%), 79% of the participants did not show difficulties with alcohol consumption. e level of alcohol consumption was positively correlated and statistically significant with the anxiety personality dimension. Monitoring this problem and generating preventive and coping strategies in this regard is highlighted.
