Abstract
The article is devoted to questions of legal status and prospects of the activities of the State Bureau of Investigations to ensure the rule of law of the Constitution of Ukraine, protection and protection of human and civil rights and freedoms. The legislative grounds for the creation of this law-enforcement institute are researched a historical analysis of the prospects for its formation in the context of the reform of law-enforcement bodies was conducted. The peculiarities of the formation of the State Bureau of Investigations and place in the system of state authorities are determined.
