Philosophical and Ethical Works of V. Sukhomlynsky at the Lessons ''I am in the World''

Abstract

Our time is marked by socio-political changes as well as the rapid development of computer technology, rethinking of moral values. In the minds of a significant part of the youth the material gets dominance over the spiritual, there is a disdainful attitude to universal values. This fact reveals a great concern in the public. All this prompts the educators to study the literary and pedagogical heritage of great humanist Vasyl Sukhomlynsky to comprehend its profound philosophical and ethical truth. At the lessons "I am in the world" (3-4 grades), a specific weight is given to ethical issues being considered by the talented teacher a cornerstone of upbringing the personality. All his literary works aimed at children are imbued with the philosophy of kindness and humanity. The moral and ethical works of V. Sukhomlynsky usher the pupils into a complex world of human relationships, introducing the multifaceted nature of the human soul, inducing the reflection, correct conclusions, the analysis of the actions of the heroes, causing the desire to follow the behavior of the characters or condemn it, thus countering the idleness, evil and cruelty. The content of the concept "philosophy for children" is disclosed in the given article. An analysis of the textbooks "I am in the world" is conducted in order to reveal the philosophical themes in the works presented by the great teacher. The lessons of the course "I am in the world" are organized on the basis of philosophical and ethical works of V. Sukhomlynsky thus discussing the philosophical concepts and categories: the meaning of human life, birth and death of a man, grief, suffering, joy, love, conscience, responsibility, duty, shame, honor, beauty. His stories and tales teach the younger pupil to think critically and creatively, to appreciate the inner world of another person, to create a lasting immunity to violence and debauchery. The article presents the examples of over-program words f the writer for use at the lessons of "I am in the world", which will help the pupils to understand complex and abstract philosophical and ethical concepts given in clear language and bright examples.
