Abstract
Wraz z uzyskaniem w 1918 r. niepodległości i tworzeniem Wojska Polskiego, ważnym zadaniem dla ówczesnych władz cywilnych i wojskowych było ustanowienie struktury duszpasterstwa przeznaczonego do pracy w środowisku żołnierskim. Pierwszym etapem działania było ustanowienie Biskupa Polowego Wojska Polskiego, który faktycznie kierował duchowieństwem wojskowym. Podpisanie przez Polskę i Stolicę Apostolską konkordatu w sposób uzgodniony przez obie strony uregulowały działalność duszpasterstwa w Wojsku Polskim.
