POLEMICAL LITERATURE XVI – XVII CENTURY IN EDUCATIONAL CULTURE OF UKRAINE

Abstract

The article deals with the phenomenon of polemical literature and aspects of the establishment of the educational culture of early modern Ukraine, which was formed in the complex symbiosis of many processes that characterized the political and spiritual reality of the XVI – XVII centuries. It is about the influence and significance of the Christian Orthodox Church, which asked the direction and forms of development as a cultural process in general, as well as educational and educational, in particular. The political thought of early modern Ukraine was formed in the complex symbiosis of many processes that characterized the political and spiritual reality. It is about the correction of the Ukrainian territories that were part of the Commonwealth, about the ideological and religious opposition to these processes of the Orthodox Church, about the religious polemics unfolding between the defenders of Orthodoxy and the representatives of the Catholic and Uniate churches. Important political accents were devoted to understanding the historical past of the Kiev land and the role of the Russian heritage in the formation of Ukrainian society and the formation of national existence. Significant contribution to the development of this problem was made not only by the polemical scholars, but also by poets and writers who worked mainly on Polish-language literature and were translators of Western Euro- pean ideas on the Ukrainian spiritual and political grounds. The purpose of the article is to identify the peculiarities of the formation of an educational culture on the basis of the analysis of polemical literature of the XVI – XVII centuries. It is established that due to the phenomenon of polemical literature of the XVI – XVII centuries. The Ukrainian educational culture was enriched with conclusions about the content of such important vital values as love of neighbor, compassion, mercy, equality, justice, human solidarity, Christian community, charity and help to the poor. Morality here appears to be the highest cri- terion in the assessment of a person, his life and deeds.
