Popular-scientific journals of south-eastern Podlasie region (1980-200)

Journal Title: Rocznik Bibliologiczno-Prasoznawczy - Year 2009, Vol 1, Issue 12

Abstract

Two periodicals of scientific character: the "Podlaski Cultural Quarterly" have been registered in the publishing landscape of the south eastern Podlaski Region, the history of which dates back to 1980 when the first volume of the then "Cultural Informant" came out, and published from the year 2000 "Nadbużańskie Sławatycze". Apart from a joint editor-in-chief, the duties of which were performed by Grzegorz Michałowski, the two papers have a similar profile and character. They both popularize information about the region - its history, cultural and scientific movement, religion as well as the natural tourist values. These publications indicate that within the recent past the region of Podlaski has made efforts to catch up with the regional literature.
