Positive and Negative Influence of Media Technologies at the Quality of Education of High School Students

Abstract
Media technologies make considerable changes in the system of education at the modern stage of the society development. The speed of information getting and analysis has grown. New forms of work came into the system of education and strengthened there. These are video and audio presentations, educational computer games and programs, creative media projects etc. In the active development, there is a new form of education – distance learning, which is predicted to be spreading all over the world in the closest future. However, these technologies have brought both positive and negative qualities into the system of modern education. The article contains the results of investigation of high school students’ personal attitude to the media technologies as the means of education. We considered that personal attitude is the key factor of aiming and resulting of their usage. Basing on the analysis of the students’ answers, we defined several parameters, which mirrored positive and negative attitude to media technologies in general and Internet in particular. The analysis of the gathered data allowed us to define the main directions of the media technologies appliance by the students with the aim of education. Each of these parameters was considered as a parallel line, one side of which contained positive qualities, and the other one – negative ones. In addition, we defined the perspective directions for the further investigation of the defined problem.<br/><br/>
