POSSIBILITY OF USAGE OF GROUNDWATER RESOURCES IN POLAND ASSUMING DIFFERENT SCENARIOS OF ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT DURING THE PERIOD OF THE NEXT 20 YEARS

Abstract
This paper presents the evaluation of the degree of usage of groundwater resources in Poland assuming different scenarios of economic development. The time period for this prediction has been taken on the next 20 years. Three scenarios of development have been chosen: commercial; regional and sustainable. The prediction of the quantity of groundwater resources available for usage has been performed for the groundwater balance areas representing water regions in Poland. Groundwater resources for each scenario have been defined by an indicator which expressed the degree of usage of groundwater resources. The impact of mining and industry on groundwater resources for each scenario has also been taken into account.
