Abstract
Bleeding from the nose is a common problem encountered in general practice ENT. Spontaneous bleeding and injuries are a common cause of bleeding from the nose. The aim of this study is to identify the causes of traumatic bleeding from the nose, diagnosis and the treatment. The source of bleeding after trauma usually are: arteriae ethmoidalis anterior, arteria sphenopalatina or other branches extending from the maxillary artery. In severe head trauma fracture running from the base of the skull there is a risk of damage to the internal carotid artery wall around the trap and the formation of a pseudoaneurysm. Treatment of traumatic bleeding from the nose depends on the location and extent of injuries. Mild bleeding from the nose, usually outside can easily obtain with the help of different types of front tamponade. Massive, diffiult to control bleeding from the nose require intensive treatment with posterior tamponade, vascular closure using an endoscope or embolization.
