Abstract
On the basis of the documents of the State archives of the Odesa region, archives of the Mechnykov National University of Odesa scientific library and Zoological Museum, Odessa Literary Museum, and also materials of the science and popular articles, that associated with the name of Professor Mashtaler (1902–1981), there were firstly presented the most comprehensive essay about the scientist-evolutionist.
