PROTECTION AGAINST GENDER DISCRIMINATION IN THE DECISIONS OF THE EUROPEAN COURT OF HUMAN RIGHTS

Abstract
The article analyzes one of the basic principles of the legal status of a person in the modern world - the principle of gender equality and the prohibition of discrimination. The constituent elements of this principle are considered, as well as the positive and negative obligations of the states on its maintenance. The jurisprudence of the European Court of Human Rights on protection from gender discrimination is being investigated, its influence on the formation of national court practice in disputes related to sex discrimination is determined.
