ПРОТЕСТАНТСЬКІ ІНТЕНЦІЇ У ТВОРЧОСТІ Г. СКОВОРОДИ

Abstract
H. Skovoroda's religious and philosophical doctrine has an outstanding aesthetic, intellectual and spiritual value. The Ukrainian thinker offers a special type of philosophy, a philosophy that is not only intellectually stimulat ing, but also spiritually and morally similar to philosophy of Protestantism. The main problems of this article are the search for the exceptional ideas of H. Skovoroda's religious and philosophical doctrine that can be similar to philosophy of Protestantism. According the works by H. Skovoroda, there are three aspects of religious and philosophical teachings of the Ukrainian thinker, which traced the similarity of his ideas with the ideas of the Protestant philosophers: 1. criticism of the institution of the Church and the clergy; 2. the original interpretation of the Bible; 3. attitude to prayer and other Christian rites. H. Skovoroda in his doctrine considers the Bible as a symbolic world. According to the symbolic nature of the Bible, both Protestant thinkers and H. Skovoroda claim about multiplicity of interpretations and meaning of the Bible which can be revealed through religious symbolism. This article focuses on the fact that the symbolic world of the Bible is revealed through deeply metaphorical and allegorical meaning. H. Skovoroda defends the critical analys is of the biblical text , which was typical of Protestantism. The art icle draws attention to the specific areas for Protestant ideas to be traced in the works by the Ukrainian thinker. It is proved, that certain H. Skovoroda’s provisions have distinct Protestant content. Also , H. Skovoroda’s relat ion of the prayer, Christian rites, sacraments and twofold interpretation plot -shaped series of the Bible are of distinct Protestant nature
