Przemoc w rodzinie – problem społeczny na przykładzie miasta Sieradz

Abstract
The article presents the problem of domestic violence. The problem is so serious that it affects individuals from the closest environment – spouses, children, par-ents. People trusting their "loved ones" often lose vigilance and become victims. On the other side there is an offender (a perpetrator of violence), "the head of the family" using his advantage to harm people who are close to him. The pre-sented problem is serious as it most often happens within the family home and often goes unnoticed by the environment. Therefore it is important to present it as a social is-sue because only then effective preventive actions can be taken. The presented is-sues are theoretical, but at the same time legal as-pects were not omitted taking into account the fact that violence is an offence prosecuted ex officio.
