Psalter songs in the Ukrainian sacred song tradition of the XVIIth – the beginning of the XXIst century

Abstract
The Ukrainian Psalter songs of the XVIIth – the beginning of the XXIst century are characterized, the place of Psalter verse paraphrase in the Ukrainian sacred song tradition, which is presented of various Christian denominations, is determined. The differences between Ukrainian and Russian tradition of psalm poetic paraphrase for singing are marked, the parallels between liturgical and paraliturgical choir creativity and sacred songs, written in Psalter verse para-phrase, are held.
