PSYCHO-PEDAGOGICAL UNDERSTANDING OF THE NOTION OF CREATIVITY
Journal Title: Професіоналізм педагога: теоретичні й методичні аспекти - Year 2017, Vol 5, Issue 2
Abstract
For a modern school the problem of developing pupils’ creative abilities is extremely important. This problem has been disclosed in a number of Ukrainian and foreign scientists’ works: L. Vyhotskyi, P. Halperin, V. Davydov, A. Leontiev, H. Nemov and others. They study the theory of the development of thinking and prove scientifically the process of creative problem solving, describe the conditions that facilitate and delay finding the right solution. However, in practice changes in solving this problem is still very minor. Development of students’ creative abilities is important at all stages of school education, but forming creative thinking at primary school age is extremely significant. According to L. Vyhotskyi’s point of view, learning in school puts forward the thinking to the centre of the child’s conscious activity. Psychologists have spent much time and effort figuring out how people solve new, unusual, and creative tasks. However, there is no clear answer to the question about the psychological nature of creativity. Science has at its disposal only some of the data that allow to describe the process of doing tasks and conditions that contribute to finding the right solutions. The main feature of creative thinking as an intellectual system is ability to analyze all problems, to establish system context, identify inconsistencies, to predict the possible development options. The teacher organizes learning activities (in our paper – the development of creative thinking). He directs the students’ activities, where they are active participants, but not passive observers or performers who are engaged in various forms of interaction with the teacher and other participants of educational process. Creativity is the highest form of social activity, opposed to the destructive activities. The work differs from reproductive activities (i.e. reproducing well-known and existing facts). These differences are not presented as an absolute, since in its pure form neither productive activities nor quite reproductive can take place. They are distinguished by the preference of a component for the main trend.
