PSYCHOLOGICAL PROBLEMS OF BORDER GUARDS’ READINESS TO ACT IN EXTREME SITUATIONS

Abstract

The article reveals the problem of border guards’ psychological readiness to act in extreme situations. The structural component of the military’s psychological readiness is emphasized, and qualitative criteria of ex- treme situations are singled out. The article presents the key psychological mechanisms of decision-making. It is noted that the psychological readiness structure is considered as a set of motivational, cognitive, emotion- al, and volitional components.
