Quantitative Impact of Porosity and Diagenesis on Reservoir Quality of the Upper Cretaceous, Lidam Formation in Gialo Oil Field, Sirte Basin, NE Libya
Journal Title: Libyan Journal of Engineering Science and Technology - Year 2022, Vol 2, Issue 1
Abstract
t-The paper discuses identifying of relationship of porosity and digenesis of the Lidam Carbonate Reservoir in 3V4-NC59E of Gialo Oil Field in Sirte Basin by means of well log data. The date used for the evaluation of reservoir porosity, include wireline well logs data, as (Gamma ray, Porosity logs ( Sonic, Neutron and Density logs) and Resistivity logs, of well 3V4-NC59E, The logs analyzed every half foot for estimation Petrophysical characters of the Lidam Unit and then calculated as average every fife feet by FlexInLog Software , and plotted on Schlumberger Cross Plots, then correlated with thin section, core data report (routine data). In this study, the indirect method was used to determine the porosity, by analyzing and interpreting the well logs and comparing them with the measurements of core samples and thin section (direct method), in addition to studying the impact of other petrophysical properties such as resistivity, permeability, volume of shale, mineral composition of the rock and the impact of diagenesis on the total porosity. The study proved that the results of the qualitative and quantitative interpretations of the indirect method in studying the porosity in the carbonate reservoir rocks are very close to the results of the direct method, and therefore it can be relied upon in study of the carbonate reservoir rocks within this basin. fracturing have increased porosity, permeability and enhanced the reservoir quality of the Lidam Formation.

Aircraft Spoilers Aerodynamics Mechanism of Braking During Landing and the Associated Radiated Tonal Noise
Spoilers are panels mounted on the suction surface of aircrafts wings. Their main function is to slow the aircraft down during landing. In this article, numerical simulations of the flow around a wing airfoil with spoile...
Depth Wall and the Stability of Anchored Retaining Walls
This study aims to use PlAXIS 2D to model an anchored retaining wall with various combinations of the wall's behavior and to create a database that can satisfy Libya's needs for anchored retaining wall design. By usin...
Verification of Numerical Modeling of Sandy Slope Soils using Non-Woven Geotextile Reinforced under Strip
A mathematical report utilizing limited component investigation (PLAXIS 2D, form 8.2) was completed on both supported and unreinforced non-woven geotextile sand slants to confirm the model experimental outcomes. The...
Design of A Prototype of A Webmapping Application for the Management of the Drinking Water Supply Distribution Network in the City of Yaoundé (Center Cameroon)
Sustainable access to drinking water is one of the problems of Third World cities. The intervention capacities of urban space managers are largely below the real needs which are constantly increasing. In the case of...
Geochemistry of Al Mahruqah Formation: A Case Study of Four Areas in the Northern Murzuq Basin, SW Libya
In this work, major oxide data were used to evaluate the Al Mahruqah Formation. This study included four areas (Idri, Sabha, Al Fuqaha, and Tmassah sheets) in the northern Murzuq Basin, SW Libya. The findings indicated t...
