Abstract
Considered the activities of the UN Security Council as the organ responsible for maintaining international peace and security. Investigated the causes inability of the UN Security Council to respond to threats and violations of peace in the international system. Analyzed problematic issues of reforming the UN Security Council. Identified ways of reforming and the main prospects for reforming the UN Security Council.
