Radio constructions of culture in Tunisia: which mediations?

Journal Title: ESSACHESS - Journal for Communication Studies - Year 2010, Vol 3, Issue 2

Abstract

Articulating media and culture in a constructivist and comprehensive approach, the aim of this article is to examine the mediation process surrounding the media culture in Tunisia through the study of selected radio programs and interviews with actors involved in mediation. By analyzing the form and content of programming guidelines expressed editorial media, modes and representations of culture demonstrate a strong link with the cultural and political Tunisian media. Complementing the speeches of the interviewees can put into perspective the media culture observed, to serve its limitations and allow a better understanding of the mediations which underlie them.
