RANGES OF BACKWATER CURVES IN LOWER ODRA
Journal Title: Civil and Environmental Engineering Reports - Year 2018, Vol 4, Issue 28
Abstract
In the paper, the backwater curve ranges at the mouth of the Odra River with changing boundary conditions were analysed. The aim of the study is to determine which boundary condition, i.e. stage of lower cross-section or flow in upper cross-section, has a greater impact on the formation of the backwater curve at the mouth of the Odra River. Due to the complicated system of the Lower Odra River network (Międzyodrze and Dabie Lake), the analysis takes into consideration a section of the Odra River from a weir in Widuchowa upwards, thereby accepting as an axiom that the cross-section in Widuchowa is within the range of sea impact, regardless of other hydrological conditions.

Non-stationary heat transfer in two-phase hollow cylinder with functionally graded effective material properties with second kind of boundary conditions
The unidirectional non-stationary heat conduction in two-phase hollow cylinder is considered. The conductor is made of two-phase stratified composites and has a smooth gradation of effective properties in the radial dire...
NUMERICAL ANALYSIS OF EFFECTIVENESS OF STRENGTHENING CONCRETE SLAB IN TENSION OF THE STEEL-CONCRETE COMPOSITE BEAM USING PRETENSIONED CFRP STRIPS
One of the methods to increase the load carrying capacity of the reinforced concrete (RC) structure is its strengthening by using carbon fiber (CFRP) strips. There are two methods of strengthening using CFRP strips - pas...
Statistical analysis of flood risk factors
The durability of hydrotechnical structures, especially flood embankments, depends largely on the correct identification of natural phenomena occurring in both the embankment body and the foundation. Such a phenomenon -...
VERIFICATION OF THE SIMULATION MODEL BASED ON THE EXAMPLE OF COMBINED SEWAGE SYSTEM IN GŁOGÓW
The verification of simulation model of combined sewage system was presented in article. The model of sewage system functioning in Głogów was developed using SWMM 5.1 (Storm Water Management Model) software. It was calib...
RATIONAL MANAGEMENT OF WATER RESOURCES IN THE BASIN OF A BIG RIVER IS NOT EASY
Throughout history, many times did floods in the river valleys of the East Mid-European Lowland occur. They brought about material losses and frequently generated hazards to human health and life as well. For centuries n...
