REDUCED GRAPHENE OXIDE/GOLD NANOPARTICLES NANOCOMPOSITE MODIFIED GLASSY CARBON SENSOR FOR ELECTROCHEMICAL DETECTION OF MELPHALAN HYDROCHLORIDE
Journal Title: World Journal of Pharmaceutical and Medical Research - Year 2017, Vol 3, Issue 2
Abstract
Background: Our study described a new electrochemically modified reduced graphene oxide/ gold nanoparticles glassy carbon sensor for the electrochemical detection of melphalan hydrochloride. Method: The reduction behavior of melphalan hydrochloride on the surface of the modified sensor was evaluated using square wave adsorptive stripping voltammetry in the presence of phosphate buffer pH = 7. Results: Under optimum conditions (Scan rate 100 mV s-1, frequency 30 Hz, pulse amplitude 60 mV, accumulation potential - 0.2 V and accumulation time 360 s) the voltammogram of the investigated drug displayed an excellent peak current over a concentration ranging from 1.0×10-7-1.0×10-3 mol L-1, (r = 0.999) with detection/quantification limit ratio = 5.0×10-8/1.6×10-7 mol L-1. The developed method was validated and its precision was proved using inter-day and intra-day detection. Conclusion: The proposed analytical method was applied for the detection of the drug of interest in intact powder, its pharmaceutical injections and bio-samples. Acceptable results with excellent agreement with those reported from other previously recommended methods were obtained.
