RESCUE ENGINEERING AND LOCAL SAFETY FROM THE POINT OF VIEW OF CRISIS MANAGEMENT

Abstract
The subject of the use of emergency services, including the army, in crisis situations is widely-known. It is commonly known that they form real forces capable of providing the general public with effective aid. However, the rules of the functioning of the army, especially in the cases of non-military threats, are not as obvious. This also concerns sub-units constituting the elements of rescue engineering. The current organization and possibilities of this component result in the situation in which, despite the immense commitment, they do not come up to social expectations in many circumstances and guarantee the society’s safety at local level.
