Journal Title: Medicine and Philosophy - Year 2025, Vol 46, Issue 1

Abstract

This article provides a review of the relevant concepts, theoretical models, current status, and influencing factors (internal personal limitations, external organizational conditions) of moral distress among nurse managers, as well as coping strategies, mainly including individual and organizational levels. It also examines coping strategies at both the individual and organizational levels. Furthermore, suggestions were put forward for future research on the ethical dilemmas of nurse managers, including gradually exploring the levels of ethical dilemmas and subjective experiences of nurse managers in different professional settings, analyzing the relationship between moral distress among nurse managers and related variables, in order to raise researchers' attention to moral distress among nurse managers, and provide theoretical references for reducing these dilemmas.
