RESEARCH MECHANISM OF IMPREGNATION FOR CONCRETE WITH WATERPROOFING MORTARS OF PENETRATING ACTION

Abstract

This article deals with the mechanism of impregnation for concrete with waterproofing mortars of penetrating action based on portland cement, granulated blast furnace slag, natural zeolite and salts electrolytes. The depth of penetration of the waterproofing solution into the concrete structure has been defined in different ways: the introduction of the waterproofing mixture of organic dyes (tannin solution) and a solution of ink or processing of the slice samples with applied waterproofing coating with an alcoholic solution of phenolphthalein. Mediated by the fact of penetration of waterproofing material to the concrete structure was confirmed by composition of the new formation, which were recorded using a physical-chemical analysis methods (DTA, XRD and electron microscopy) on samples coated with waterproofing mortars which have hardened over 1 and 3 years. It is proved that the degree of impregnation for concrete structures with waterproofing mortars of penetrating action can be controlled by changing the color of the indicator depending on the pH of the solution of salts-electrolytes.
