Research of Sorting Process of Unit Loads by Rotary Active Fence
Journal Title: Archives of Transport - Year 2012, Vol 24, Issue 2
Abstract
The paper presents results of research of a sorting process applied to a stream of unit loads (cubiform objects, parcels) transported on conveyors. The sorting process is performed by means of an active fence (flexible arm) making above the conveyor surface the working rotary motion of one degree of freedom. The manipulated loads are treated as bodies of nonlinear elastic-damping properties described by modified nonlinear Kelvin model. The equations of motion of the flexible fence, and those of the interacting object, are derived using the finite element method. The assessment of influence of constructional and exploational parameters of the fence on the course of the sorting process and dynamic forces exerted on handled loads is the main aim of carried out investigations.

The aim of the paper is to carry out a comparative study of 13 different traffic flow models available in TRITONE, a new road traffic simulator that specializes particularly in quantitative road safety assessment. After...
On-Road Exhaust Emissions from Passenger Cars Fitted with a Start-Stop System
The paper presents the results of on-road (city traffic) exhaust emission and fuel consumption tests related to a vehicle fitted with a start-stop system. The tests of different types of vehicle cruise cycles were perfor...
Selection of the most adequate trip-modelling tool for integrated transport planning system
This paper deals with the problem of selection the most suitable trip-modelling tool (TMT), which is a part of the more complex integrated transport planning system (ITPS) at the regional scale. Since an application of T...
