Research progress on genetic loci controlling wheat resistance to Fusarium crown rot
Journal Title: Journal of Henan Agricultural University - Year 2024, Vol 58, Issue 4
Abstract
This article reviewed the resistance loci for Fusarium crown rot (FCR) in wheat. Currently, 140 loci for FCR resistance have been identified locating on all 21 wheat chromosomes, including 10 resistance genes. Although there are many loci for FCR resistance reported, the effect of major loci is not clear, which seriously impacts the process of improving wheat FCR resistance. The main problems in the study of FCR resistance sites in wheat were analyzed; Suggestions on the unified identification method of FCR and strengthening the identification of adult resistance were put forward. It is crucial for identifying the main loci/genes for FCR resistance and developing the molecular markers, which will promote the breeding process of FCR resistant wheat cultivars through molecular marker assisted selection.
