Abstract

The importance of the regional development in the national and global economies is hard to overestimate. In its turn, the role of local governments in solving problems related to increasing the investment attractiveness, development of investment processes, accumulation, distribution and management of existing and potential investment resources is increasing with the deepening of radical transformations in the regions, enhancing their economic independence and their integration into the global economic system. Thus, management of investment processes at times of acceleration of scientific and technological progress and transformation of the global economic system requires new approaches to solving current management problems, including those at the regional level. Taking into account the fact that investments in the economy are one of the main sources of economic development, activation of the foreign investment process in Ukrainian economy requires the use of science-based approaches and, above all, systematization of the methods for assessing investment attractiveness of the regions. The article “Approaches to assessing region’s investment attractiveness” of Olga Maslak, Liubov Kvuiatkovska, Volodymyr Talover analyses regional investment policy as part of the national policy that in turn is a system of measures taken at the regional level and including the mobilization of investment resources along with the identification of directions of their most efficient and rational use in the interests of the region's population and individual investors.
