Abstract
The reviewed monograph IM Yang reveals the issues of study and preservation of the national historical and cultural heritage, which is a key element in the development of national consciousness, a influential factor in the consolidation of unifying spiritual values and priorities in society, which are relevant for the national cultural and artistic issues. The Ukrainian Musical and Drama Theater has always been an important component of the national historical and cultural heritage, an expressionist of the code of ethnic consciousness, a source of preserving the traditions of the Ukrainian nation, and conceptually elaborating the specifics of its development is one of the priority areas of contemporary art criticism.
