Abstract
The article presents a review of current literature on the role of immune mechanisms in the pathogenesis of psoriasis. Among them, much attention is paid to urocanic acid, which provides a natural protection of the skin from exposure to UV radiation, as the mediator- induced immunosuppression. The aim of our study was to determine the level of urocanic acid and activity of histidase in patients with psoriasis. To study used wipes sweat from the skin. In these samples to determine the level of urocanic acid and activity of histidase spectrophotometrically. In the study of 43 patients with psoriasis aged 17 to 86 years found a significant reduction in urocanic acid (0.9 to 4.6 nmol sm.kv.) and histidase activity (from 0.7 to 3.9 units.) Compared with the norm (9.4 0.52 nmol sm.kv. 0.47 and 8.1 u, respectively). Patients in advanced stages histidase activity was lower than in patients in the stationary phase. Very low activity was observed in patients with exudative psoriasis and psoriatic arthropathy and averaged 1.5 0.54 0.43 to 2 units. respectively. The lowest - in patients who had erythrodermic psoriasis Analysis of the results of our research points to the importance level of urocanic acid and activity of histidase in the pathogenesis of psoriasis that should be considered when developing a comprehensive tactics individualized treatment of patients with psorias
