Abstract
The aim of this article is to depict the progress of martial law in Poland, presented aired on Polish Desk of Radio Free Europe. The author presents the dynamics of martial law period in Poland against the background of the most important events of the period from 13 XII 1981 until 22 VII 1983. Martial law took the workers what they had conquered in August 1980. Whereas polish society had been taken by their own country. Trade unions had been resolved, country borders - closed, telephone communication with the world - suspended, many people had been arrested and had to suffer repression. To see the truth and true background of the events that played out in the country, so close to them, Poles had listened to a broadcaster, which was hundreds of kilometers away . Broadcaster, which team had to work out a titanic work each day, despite of numerous obstacles and a considerable distance from the center of events, to narrate what communists wanted to hide
