RUSSIAN POPULATION'S ENTREPRENEURIAL ACTIVITY: AN INTERREGIONAL DIFFERENCES'S COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS

Abstract

Development of small and medium entrepreneurship in Russia is one of priorities for economic and social policy of the government. However, the national statistics for SME's is rather limited because only active established enterprises are the subject of Rosstat's surveys. So there is a lack of official statistical data on early-stage entrepreneurial activity in its different stages (nascent and baby business). The paper deals with comparing of early-stage entrepreneurial activity level among Russia's regions. We also aim to analyse different types of entrepreneurial strata reproduction observed in Russia. Such a comparison is becoming possible on the base of microdata of research project "Early-stage entrepreneurial activity in Russia: regional measurements" that has been realised in the National State University Higher School of Economics.
