SAFETY OF ROAD USERS – IDENTIFICATION OF DANGERS AND RISKS WHILE OPERATING MEANS OF TRANSPORT

Abstract
The article presents proposals for systematizing phraseology related safety of road users. The systematics of definitions is a significant element enabling cognitive considerations concerning the surrounding reality. Inaccurate definitions obstruct understanding and analysis of the problems discussed as well as communication. One of the basic and important purposes while operating a means of transport on the road is striving to decrease the risk of accidents, i.e. to achieve safety of road users. Discussed are selected elements of equipment affecting the active and passive safety system of road users. The classification scale of accident seriousness is quoted.
