SANITARY VALIDATION OF THE PROCESS OF ANAEROBIC DIGESTION OF SLURRY BASED ON THE SURVIVAL OF Salmonella SENFTENBERG (W775, H2S NEGATIVE) AND Ascaris suum EGGS
Journal Title: Acta Scientiarum Polonorum – Agricultura - Year 2016, Vol 15, Issue 4
Abstract
Abstract. The subject of this study was an assessment of the effectiveness of hygienization of pig slurry during the methane fermentation process. The basic criterion for evaluating the effectiveness of the process was the inactivation rate of Salmonella Senftenberg (W775, H2S negative) and the eggs of Ascaris suum. Bacteria suspensions were introduced into slurry inside microbiological carriers of the FILTER-SANDWICH type, while parasite eggs were in special perlon parasitological carriers. The obtained results indicate that during anaerobic digestion of slurry there occurred a rapid elimination of both Salmonella Senftenberg (W775, H2S negative) and Ascaris suum eggs. The shape of the regression line shows that the complete inactivation of Salmonella Senftenberg (W775, H2S negative) occurred between the 12th and 13th hour of the process. Ascaris suum eggs were completely eliminated after 4 hours. Study results suggest that even in the case of strong contamination of the feed material, the technology of anaerobic digestion guarantees obtaining a microbiologically safe product.

EFFECT OF IRRIGATION ON THE CONTENT AND YIELD OF STARCH IN EARLY POTATO CULTIVARS IN DIFFERENT REGIONS OF POLAND
Abstract. The aim of this study was to assess the effect of irrigation on the content and yield of starch in several potato cultivars grown in different regions of Poland. Field experiments were conducted over the period...
EFFECT OF NITROGEN FERTILIZATION AND FUNGICIDE PROTECTION ON WINTER TRITICALE WHOLESOMENESS
Until recently, triticale was considered to be a species of low disease susceptibility. Research results indicate, however, that it is more and more frequently infected by stem-base, leaf, and spike diseases, and the los...
YIELD OF SOME WINTER TRITICALE CULTIVARS AS AFFECTED BY THE TILLAGE SYSTEM
In recent years cereals, including triticale, have been more often grown in simplified crop rotations. This study aimed to determine the effect of zero tillage and ploughing on the yield level of winter triticale cultiva...
ASSETS AND THREATS TO Molinia MEADOWS (Molinion caeruleae ALLIANCE) ON CHOSEN NATURA 2000 AREAS IN THE EASTERN PART OF THE SILESIAN UPLAND
The studies on diversity and conservation status of Molinia meadows as significantly endangered natural habitats are very important in the context of nature protection on the European scale. The collected basic data for...
RECOLONISATION PROCESS IN ABANDONED Molinietum caeruleae MEADOWS – THE INFLUENCE OF POSITION WITHIN GAPS ON MICROSITE CONDITIONS AND SEEDLING RECRUITMENT
Investigations were carried out in patches of Molinietum caeruleae meadows dominated by small meadow species (patch I), characterised by prevailing large-tussock grasses (patch II), and overgrown by willow shrubs and bor...
