Saving and Investment Pattern of Rural Households of Himachal Pradesh

Abstract
Investment is one of the foremost concerns of every individual investor as their small savings of today are to meet the expenses of tomorrow. The savings and investments pattern by the people vary from person to person and even with same person during two periods due to difference in motives. The present paper explains different reasons of savings and investment, awareness level and association between demographic factors and awareness level among rural households of Chamba district. 100 samples were used to examine the objectives of the study. Investors have given less importance for their old age requirements and unexpected contingencies and bank deposits still hold higher priority among institutional investments in rural area are the major findings of the study.
