SCENARIOS FOR CHECKING THE PROGRESSIVE COLLAPSE OF REINFORCED CONCRETE DUAL SYSTEM FOR BUILDINGS
Journal Title: ROMANIAN JOURNAL OF TECHNICAL SCIENCES - APPLIED MECHANICS - Year 2010, Vol 55, Issue 2
Abstract
The objective of the study is a building structure, made of reinforced concrete in a dual system. The structure is a theoretical one but the dimensioning and the considered loads complies the technical regulations in force in Romania. Buildings’ design to resist local damages without collapsing represents a relatively new concern among engineers. Some countries have technical regulations which include sets of rules regarding the design in order to prevent the progressive collapse phenomena. In Romania there are no such rules or specific recommendations. The goal of the study is checking the structure for progressive collapse on the basis of some scenarios proposed by the authors. For both studies the analysis remains in the linear elastic field. The FEM program used was SAP2000-V12.

INFLUENCE OF BOUNDARY CONDITION ON CHANNEL SECTION COLUMN BEHAVIOUR
The FEM-based, numerical study of the influence of the boundary conditions on distorsional lateral buckling phenomena during bending of cold formed steel bars with different channel sections have been performed. Beams wi...
A NATURAL SONIC COMPOSITE – THE ATMOSPHERE
The atmosphere represents a natural sonic composite exhibiting the full band-gaps and localized modes around inhomogeneities given by the wind-velocity jumps. The paper analyses a barometric model including inhomogeneiti...
AN IDENTIFICATION PROBLEM FROM INPUT-OUTPUT DATA
This paper discusses the identification problem of the time-varying properties of a hysteretic system, associated with a given motion equation. The motion equation describes the behavior of a shear-beam building with N d...
ON THE NUMERICAL IMPLEMENTATION OF ELASTO-PLASTIC CONSTITUTIVE EQUATIONS FOR METAL FORMING
This paper is devoted to the time integration of elasto-plastic constitutive models, in view of their implementation in finite element software for the simulation of metal forming processes. Both implicit and explicit ti...
DYNAMIC STUDY OF AN ELASTIC SYSTEM WITH TWO DEGREES OF FREEDOM
In the paper is presented the dynamic survey of an elastic mechanical system which consists of two rigid solids linked to each other by a cylindrical joint. One of the two rigid solids is linked through an elastic linear...
